Notes crashes on Catalina when starting line with three dashes or a space then 3 dashes. Anyone else have this issue?

I don't, but I imagine it might have something to do with text substitutions. It should be trying to convert that to an em dash.

Turn off Smart Dashes in Edit menu > Substitutions and see what happens.

Thanks, that helped.

I have a Sys Pref>Keyboard>Text replacement for a smart dash (-- to —).

I disabled that, and no more crash. Alternatively, I can turn off smart dashes in Edit>Substitutions. So it was something about how my Keyboard Text replacement was interacting with the Smart Dash Substitution.
