I cannot get my Mac to connect to the TimeCapsule Drive, though it connects to the internet via the TC WiFi network.
Airport Utility picks up the TC on my phone, but not on the iMac.
All software and firmware is up to date. If the TC is plugged into the Mac, it works fine as a drive, but since the router is in a different location, it won't work as a network device.
iMac Line (2012 and Later)
Very strange. An incorrect IPv6 setting on your Mac might be the culprit here. Try the following on your Mac:
Click to open System Preferences (the gear icon on the dock)
Open Network
Click on Wi-Fi on the left panel to highlight and select it
Click Advanced over on the lower right of the window
Click the TCP/IP tab at the top of the next window
Check to make sure that the setting for Configure IPv6 is set to Link Local Only
Click OK
Click Apply in the next window (this is an easy step to miss)
Now you are back in the main Network window
Click on Ethernet on the left panel to highlight it
Click Advanced over on the lower right of the window
Click the TCP/IP tab
Check to make sure that the setting for Configure IPv6 is set to Link Local Only
Click OK
Click Apply in the next window (this is an easy step to miss)
Close the windows
Power off the Time Capsule, wait a minute, then power it back up again
Restart your Mac
Check to see if the TC now appears in AirPort Utility on the Mac

Power up the TC again
Open Airport Utility on the Mac
Click on the TC to select it
Click Edit in the smaller widow that appears
Click the Disks tab at the top of the window
The name of the TC drive......."Data".....should appear here, unless you have changed the name of the drive

Thanks Bob, but the TC doesn't appear in the Airport Utility at all on my Mac. It says "no configured Airport Base stations have been found." When I click "Other WiFi Devices" there is nothing I can select there either.
Also in Airport Utility, under File > Configure Other, I put the address of the TC in, it says "reading settings on...." but never connects. However, when I use Airport Utility on my iPhone, the TC looks fine.

Cannot get mac to connect to Time Capsule as a drive; TC works as a network though.
