Can I save two different versions of the same photo on MacBook Pro?

How can I save two different versions of the same photo on MacBook Pro (Catalina)? One would be resized (not cropped, I mean resized in terms of pixels - in the Preview/Tools menu) and one original. Currently if I create a duplicate and edit one, the other is automatically edited the same way. I've seen answers to this question dated 6 or 7 years ago, but the software has changed since then and the answers no longer seem to apply. Thanks for any help.

If duplicate is not working for you, hold the Option key to "Save As."
