Drag an audio file into your "Automatically Add.... " folder. Do this while iTunes/Music is running.

If the file is compatible, it will be added to your library.

If the file is not compatible (e.g. corrupted, not a valid format, etc.) it will be placed into a "Not Added" folder.

Open music, select File in the menu bar on the top and click 'Add to library'. That will open a window where you can select the files/folders you want to add.
