The question was how can I find a lost iPhone - for them. The suggestion to have them find it for themselves (on any mac or pc - which is unavailable to them at the moment ) isn't helpful, unfortunately
They need to use the Find My app (any device Mac or PC).

why would there be a “help a friend” of you can’t help someone find their lost device?
