Apple Music from 2 individual accounts to family share
My husband and I both have individual accounts. Can we get family sharing but not lose our music?

You should be able to, but don't cancel your accounts first. Instead, one of you should become the family organizer and setup family sharing according to:
Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support
Then the family organizer should change their Apple Music account to a family subscription according to:
Change your subscription plan - Apple Support
Finally, the family organizer should invite the other partner to join the family and share the subscription according to step 5 in:
Get an Apple Music family subscription - Apple Support
That way, as it says in that footnote:
If someone in the family group already has an individual or student subscription to Apple Music, renewal of that subscription is automatically canceled when they join the family group.
