Samsung tv Apple TV app, how do I get it to see my library of movies I have on my iMac?

apple tv app doesn't show all movies I have several movies on my computer that I downloaded outside of itunes. they appear and work fine in the apple tv app library on my computer, but they don't show up on the apple tv app on my smart tv. under "library" they aren't there. any help?

I can no longer see all the movies I have on my iMac After upgrading all my devices, I find that I can no longer view any of my movies on my Apple TV. I have dozens of movies that I have ripped onto iTunes in the past and I was able to view them on the TV. This isn't possible now. I realize that those movies are now on the AppleTV app on my Mac. But why can't I view this on my AppleTV device (connected to my TV)?

The Apple TV app on your smart TV can show your iTunes Store purchases and Apple TV app Channel subscriptions, but not your Home Sharing content. For getting Home Sharing content on your TV, you will need an Apple TV set-top box.

You may be able to use AirPlay, if your TV supports that.

That would mean operating from the Mac, but the content would still be on your TV.
