i downloaded icloud for windows, but it does not give me option to download photos to PC

I have done all that. Not sure what is going on
Wait for what appears to be an update (photo data transfer?) in progress to complete, and try again?
It’s been saying it’s updating for a while
If this is a dozen photos on a gigabit internet link, there’s a problem.
If this is 10,000 photos on a congested DSL link, might want to work on something else for a bit.
