Imovie not letting me update

Hi everyone-

I need to update my iMovie on my Macbook pro, but it doesn't let me update it, it says I cannot update because the app was either refunded or was bought with a different Apple ID.. can anyone help ?

To update you need to sign in with the Apple I.D. that you used to purchase or acquire iMovie. If you remember your old I.D. you may be able to sign in with that.


If the above doesn't work, you may be able to change your Apple I.D. back to your old one, at least temporarily. Take a look at this link:

I don't know what ramifications there may be to changing one's Apple I.D.
