Is the printer compatible with AirPrint? If not, you’ll not be able to print directly from your iPad.

Printers not capable of AirPrint may be used if they are connected to an PC or Mac that, with appropriate software, can emulate AirPrint - providing a “bridge” between the iPad and the non-compliant printer.

Alternatively, connecting the Printer to an AirPrint Server, such as Lantronix xPrintServer appliance, will add AirPrint support.

One other option is to identify a manufacturer specific printing App (in this case from Epson, if one should exist) - that may provide print capability via a Cloud printing service.

One example would be Readdle Printer Pro.

You’ll need to install the desktop component on your PC/Mac - and the corresponding App on your Apple devices:

Clearly, your printer must connect via USB to the PC/Mac - and the computer must be running.
