iPad getting very warm

My new 7th gen iPad gets very warm when using some art and game apps. Is this normal?

High CPU loading can occur when using graphics intensive Apps, such as some games and graphics Apps - such as Procreate.

”Warm” or “very warm” is not unusual/uncommon. If the casing temperature returns to normal at other times, being warm is nothing to wort about.

However, if the iPad is “too hot to handle”, this is not normal and might be considered worthy of further investigation.
