If I turn my iPad to landscape I get a list of bookmarks taking up the left hand side of the screen. I’d like to collapse or close this. A previous reply (2014!) said tap on the bookmark icon at the top of the strip but tapping on the icons just toggles through bookmarks - reading list - history and doesn’t shift the block Any tricks for doing this?

Use the book icon at the top of your screen, to the left of the address bar. . Not the book icon inside the list
Thanks - I'm partially sighted and having found an icon where from the 2014 reply I expected it, I stopped looking & to me not obvious

You probably tapped on it by accident, now you know how to get rid of it
