What operating system does your computer use? In macOS 10.15 Catalina you would manage the device with Finder, otherwise iTunes should give you the tools to add or remove music from your device. If you sync the device with selected playlists, then editing the lists and syncing will remove unwanted tracks. If you manually manage the device then you can browse to the tracks you want to remove and delete them using iTunes, or in Catalina/Finder use a button that reads Manage Storage.
