Saving Scanned Items

I need to save an item that I scan on my laptop so I can attach it to an email. It will scan but I can't save it. Why won't it save? I have not had this problem before.

See if Image Capture in Applications does any better, or Vuescan.

HP Smart Scan - Cannot save to Files As recent as 3 months ago, I could save scans from HP Smart to my Files folders in iCloud Drive or on my device. Now the only options are to save to Photos or to HP Smart. The only thing I can think of that has changed is I joined Apple One as a family member under my spouse’s account. His iPad Pro can still save HP Smart scans to Files and other locations. His is one gen newer ipad otherwise the same. Is it a setting I need to change, or a glitch with Apple One?

You can scan from Preview, change, and save.
