Unable to download/update Apps

Hello, I have an iPhone 8 and I am logged into the App store with my apple ID. Just recently I have become unable to download new apps or update my current apps and I don't know why. My billing info is correct and my phone is up-to-date running iOS 13.5.1 - Can anyone help? thanks.

Make sure you have tried these steps if you are having any of these issues that are listed: If you can’t download or update apps on your iPhone or other Apple device

If the steps don't help or none of them are related to the issue you are having, contact Apple Support.

Here are some possibilities:

'Your account has been disabled in the App Store and iTunes' https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208856. This link says: "There might be a problem with the payment method that you have on file. When you see the message, don't try to edit any of your account information. Insteadcontact Apple Support for help.”

Try using the Apple recommended support link above first. But, this site is down very often. Use the support options I give below if necessary.

You can also Get a call from Apple support to help solve your problem https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=kbase&PGF=PGF63005&category_id=SC0245&symptom_id=23362

And you can use Apple Support Twitter https://twitter.com/AppleSupport

And, if necessary, go here to contact iTunes worldwide support via text or chat https://support.apple.com/choose-country-region/itunes After choosing your country, see the heading, Tell us how we can help.

__________

If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201400. There have been quite a few Apple server connection problems lately. Among other things, in the above document, see Check Apple’s System Status page. You can check there to see if the needed server is available when you need to use one.

What to do when the Mac App Store shows a different Apple ID for software updates https://www.macworld.com/article/3267709/mac-app-store-apple-id.html. This document refers to a prior owner, but is also applies to cases where a current owner's old Apple ID is the problem.

Basically, If an app is purchased/downloaded using one Apple ID, then you can't update it with another Apple ID. The app is inextricably linked to the first Apple ID. You'll have to delete it and repurchase/download it again with the second Apple ID unless you use family sharing (see below).

As an alternative to deletion, you can set up family sharing between the IDs to share purchases made with them. See:

Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Try a forced restart.

Reset Device.

If necessary

Hard reset.

Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.

Restore to Factory setting.

Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
