There are no user preferences for changing font color using Calendar/iCal. Only the calendar color can be changed. Using Month View, All-day events have a background which matches the assigned calendar color, while timed events are represented by a dot matching the calendar color. Day/Week views display a background for all events which matches the calendar color.
