Audio keeps cutting out

On all the apps and websites I use the audio just keeps randomly cutting out and won't come back for at least a minute every time. I have already changed the sound preferences to see if that did anything and restarted my mac.

I would recommend booting into safe mode and see if you face the same issue or not - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201262

Some other things you can attempt is an SMC reset - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201295 & NVRAM Reset - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204063#:~:text=How%20to%20reset%20NVRAM,Mac%20might%20appear%20to%20restart.
