If you want to have some fun with those crooks, you can find description of this scam on the internet with screenshots of stuff they want you to open in browser and application to install on your device. They tell you to do 'this' and 'that' and then ask you 'what do you see?' before moving to the next step. So, you can tell them 'I see this screen' or 'that screen'.

Don't install anything.

Get to the point where they give you a long numeric code to enter into website or app. Then...

/These crooks use a legitimate web company service (last time it was helpme.net (fastsupport.gotoassist.com) or something like that) that caters freelance computer technicians, etc. They pay and subscribe to this site so that their clients can download an app (kind of like Remote Admin) and technicians can get onto clients' computer and fix things. These crooks get account from that company and want to mess up your computer when you install that app. /

If you get a code from these criminals, you can complain to that company so they revoke that code and possibly other codes associated with the same criminal requestor.

Make your contribution in fighting these losers.
