png's disappear from preview in iMovie

I'm using the latest version of iMovie and have only in the past few minutes had this problem arise; Everytime I add a new png file over my video, that one and all the previous ones disappear from the preview of the video forcing me to close and then reopen the app for them to all show up again.

Does anyone know of a solution for this? I can try and find more details if that would help, but I have a feeling it's just my laptop malfunctioning.

Just a last ditch effort for help at this point.

Thanks!

It could be that you have a corrupt preference. That can cause iMovie to function improperly.

Try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that

appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if iMovie functions correctly.
