So I just got an Xs max earlier today and I finished setting it up and went into brightness to turn on dark mode but when I got to where it should be it wasn’t there. I went and checked to see if smart invert was on to make sure and it was off but the option to turn on dark mode was still missing. Please help me

From your profile, it appears that you are using iOS 12 on your iPhone Xs Max. You will need to update it to iOS 13 for Dark Mode to be active.
