MacBookm Pro mid 2010 not compatible with new OS. Can anything be done to upgrade?
Having experienced Catalina first hand I wouldn't want to "upgrade" a machine that's out of warranty. At least new owners can go back and harass the Geniuses at the Apple store for the OS issues. I call it Microsoft Catalina. It's a regression.

Maybe if you started your own thread and provided details of the issues you are experiencing we could try to help you. Many are using Catalina without issue.
I did start a thread and added my voice to a couple of others. Yes a great majority are happy with it but for the rest of us the transition from High Sierra to Catalina was bumpy. I have Mid 2015 hardware. If my older hardware is the culprit I feel I should warn others.
It is too old, its hardware cannot run the newest OS. I have a similar situation with a 2010 Macbook Air, the best it can do is High Sierra (10.13).
Thanks you. I suspected as much, but thought perhaps someone out there had solved a similar problem. I am in the process of installing 'High Sierra" right now.
*or Mojave to Catalina... I've lost track already
