Storage- System

My "system" part of my storage takes up most of it with 72GB. How can I clear that? I already did everything else to free up space. I deleted files, I reduced clutter, and optimized storage. How can I make the 72GB go down so I can have more storage?

System includes:

  • Time Machine local snapshots, but are marked as 'purgeable' and should not be removed manually.
    • However, to locate them: sudo tmutil listlocalsnapshots /
    • ... and to delete individual snapshots: tmutil deletelocalsnapshots <enter the snapshot>
  • Spotlight Indexing
  • iCloud Storage of infrequently-used files.
