system preferences doesn't have updated tool bar

My systems preferences does not have any of the icon's shown in this image. I am running MAC OS Catalina 10.15.6

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

iPhones and iPads do not mount on the Desktop like HDs do. With them connected via cable look of them in the sidebar under Locations. Click on it and in the right hand pane you'll see what is similar to the iTunes backup and syncing window:

System Preferences ?

That is Finder sidebar— if you have no CD, DVD or iOS Devices connected nothing will show.


Verify you have not hidden the Show/Hide option...

move your mouse to the right side to reveal this option.
