My mac switches the keyboard language automatically after I type a capital letter, or a sign like " or -. It all started after I updated my software to "Catalina". I tried to check the preferences but I can't find anything. It mainly happens when I write in Pages or Word, but not on Chrome for example. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and knows how to solve this?

It will not wipe your data at all.
When you power off your machine you need to hold Command + R keys on keyboard and tap power button to power ON, keep holding them down until progress bar will be half way through and then release. It will take you to Utilities.
Then just choose reinstall MacOS and it should be fine.

Does anything change if you check the box for using Caps Lock to switch languages in system prefs/keyboard/input sources?
Does this happen in any Apple app other than Pages (Mail, Notes, Message, TextEdit, Safari)?
What exactly are the languages it is switching between? Do you use Caps Lock instead of Shift to create capitals?
I'm using english and hebrew.
I'm using shift to create capitals and cmd+space to switch language.
You could try to remove pages and add it again as it's free software and see what happens.
Alternatively you could just replace system files with quick reinstall holding Command + R options on boot.
It doesn't change if i use Caps Lock to switch languages.
And it happens in the mail and the Notes applications as well.
Now it started happening in the chrome too.
It happens in any application, not only when I use pages.
Can you please explain more about the Command + R option? will it delete any of my saved files? when exactly do I do that?
