Can the size of the ruler in pages be increased to see it better?

Not without changing the display resolution in System Preferences from Default for display to one of the scaled choices, or an eye exam with new computer prescription lenses to improve close-up legibility. That's what I did, as changing the display is not a pleasant choice.
