How do you put desktop and documents on finder?

I recently upgraded to a new 2020 MacBook Pro from a 2012 MacBook Pro and my new one doesn't have the desktop and documents folders in favorites. It also doesn't show the desktop/documents option in preferences. However it DOES show it on iCloud Drive but I don't want it on iCloud. Does any one know how to enanble those on finder? For reference look at the picture

Left is how I want it to look and right is how It looks right now

no desktop/documents option. only in iCloud which I don't want

You'll have to turn Desktop & Documents Folders option OFF in System Preferences.

Look here: Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive - Apple Support

Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to the section: Turn off Desktop and Documents
