iPad shuts down when charged

Hi! My iPad is only 3 years old and never had a problem

Suddenly when fully charged it shuts down and shows no charge left

If I force it to restart it stays on at 100% for a few minutes then shuts down and shows no battery left again

Sometimes it will stay on at full charge if I use it with the charger but not always. Help!

iPad Air 2, iPadOS 13

The symptoms that you describe suggest a failing battery - quite probably at the end of its usable service life.

You would be well advised to directly contact Apple Support - and request a remote battery diagnostic test. If your iPad battery is failing, they will be able to offer appropriate advice.

The link to Contact Support is at top right of this page. Alternatively, you can initiate a support case using the excellent Apple Support App:

Thanks Drake but it does charge just fine fully to 100% but shuts off and shows the battery with the red level on screen even though when I force a restart it’s still at 100%

I it does stay on it remains on with no problem until I have to charge it again and then it starts all over
