I have a 2012 MacBook Air. The only ports are USB (not C) and old thunder bolt. How can I connect to a HDMI display?

'Old Thunderbolt' i.e. TB1 or TB2, are physically the same plug as mini-DisplayPort. So, all you need is a mini-DP-to-HDMI cable or adapter. They are commonly available on Amazon, Best Buy, etc.

Link to cable on Amazon

Link to adapter on Amazon (you'd also need an HDMI cable if you go this route)
