If it is a Network / Carrier / SIM issue --> If you see 'invalid SIM' or 'no SIM' on your iPhone or iPad ...

If this is a phone you just got and you did not purchase it through your phone provider then the phone may be locked to a different carrier. This will cause you to not be able to use a SIM card from another carrier. The phone will have to be unlocked for this to work. To do that, it would have to meet criteria from the original carrier that it was locked to and then have them release it from it’s lock. It is most likely if you bought it from someone else not fully paid or some other reason like that.
