Powering off when battery has still a lot of charge. Does it happen to anybody?

My macbook pro 2017 13" is up to date with OS (21/sept/2020) but it still keeps doing it - powering off when battery has still a lot of charge (today it had 89% of battery when powered off and refused to power on showing 'low battery' sign even though it had nearly 90 perc). Does it happen to anybody?

Likely due to a failing battery.

If your Mac does not have a Touch Bar, there is a battery replacement program for it:

13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) Battery Replacement Program - Apple Support

If it does have a Touch Bar, you'll need to pay for the repair. Apple charges $199 for that.
