ESC button gone from touchbar

I used this on the touch bar all the time and now its gone. I have seen complicated steps about resetting xyz, but i dont want to do that. i have also gone in to personalise my touch bar but there is no option to add ESC back. i have a modifier key set up to be my escape button for now

but i am desperate to get my bar back to the way it was - all i had was esc,, sound and brightness.
