iMovie on MacBook Pro crashing

iMovie quits unexpected everytime doing this simple editing task: select a clip, using laptop's built-trackpad, adjust any slider tool (such as audio volume, or color saturation), release trackpad pressure, and iMovie app quits. Closes. Doing the same thing on the same project on desktop iMac, no problem. Tried deleting app, re-downloading, same result.

Hi, making7,

Try deleting preferences. That often cures iMovie misbehaviors.

To delete preferences open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.
