I tried to update MacOs Catalina from 10.15.6 to 10.15.7 using automatic update, to no avail. Macbook restarts, but nothing installs. Downloaded and installed the update manually, same result. Somehow it refuses to really do anything at all.

You should free more drive space. 20GB free at least.

No warnings or error messages about drive space when I tried, but after freeing up space it worked. Thanks so much for the solution!
