if you know the existing passcode and you have access to your phone, you can follow this support article and turn if off rather than on. (note that you may not be able to turn off your passcode if something on your phone requires one to be set, ie a work email account)

if you are locked out of your device because you forgot your passcode..

If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support
