But if you have an iPad mini first-generation still running iOS 9 (and most probably 9.3.6) there's no upgrade available.

Only option there is a newer or new iPad, as there’s no hardware upgrade.

The hardware lacks the processing and memory needed for the newer iOS and PadOS versions.
