External monitor connection

Hey,

I am trying to connect my Macbook Pro to an external monitor using a docking station, but the arrangement tab in the displays setting is not there.

The arrangement tab only appears AFTER you have successfully connected a second and subsequent display. Before that display is seen, there is nothing to arrange.

So that is a symptom of failure to recognize the display, not a cause.

on the displays preferences pane, Once the display is connected, hold down the Option key and a (detect displays) button may appear in the lower right corner.
