QuickTime Player

I have QuickTime Player installed on my iMac. Does it still work? Do I still need it? Should I remove it to free up some space?

What are others doing?

What is your version macOS?

QuickTime Player still works, of course, as it is bundled with the latest versions system software.

QuickTime and QuickTime Player are part of macOS. QuickTime Player is even protected from user deletion. Other applications and system extensions rely on QuickTime being there.
