I am not getting my full library of music now that I have cancelled the £9 pm subscription. I don't think it's fair that I should have to pay a monthly fee to listen to an album that I have paid for on i tunes. Am I getting this wrong is it the norm to only be able to listen to my music if I pay an extortionate amount to do so?

If you terminate an Apple Music subscription you lose access to anything that came via the subscription or your own matched or uploaded content that was only in the cloud. Your past purchases from the iTunes Store should remain available and can be redownloaded if required. See Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books - Apple Support and Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books from the App Store, iTunes Store, and Apple Books - Apple Support.
