I have a huge media library on an external HD. My itunes is pointed to it in preferences. If I want to back up the playlists, do I make a copy of the itl. that currently exists in my itunes folder on my computer under music, or copy the itl in the folder that is on the external drive? Thanx in advance for any help.

Backup the one with the most recent modification date.
