If by Powerbook you mean a modern MacBook, Macbook Pro or MacBook Air, (Apple has not made actual Powerbooks in 15 years), then yes. a MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, can use traditional USB mice and Bluetooth Mice, including Microsoft branded ones.

Thanks. To those responding in a helpful way and to the one sarcastic response " just wait til you are closing in on 86 sonny". My sight, hearing and teeth are perfect plus I am still working MAC issues. Wish you the same good fortune.
