after ios 14.2 email app still opens to old email

Ever since ios13, my email app opens the last viewed email even if I close it and go back to my inbox. The app never just opens my inbox and still is a problem after 14.2 update.

If I delete the last viewed email, the next time I open the app it will show my inbox. If I don't delete the email, the app keeps opening to that last viewed one instead of my inbox.
