Catalina 10.15.7 Finder "Show Preview Options" grayed out

After my update to 10.15.7, the Preview Options in Finder > View > Show Preview Options is grayed out, and therefore not available. I want to turn this preview function on, but cannot. How do I get it back?

Thanks.

Hello gkgraphics,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with "Show Preview Options" being grayed out on your Mac. We are happy to share information that may help.

When you navigate to Finder > View, you first need to select "Show Preview." After the preview pane appears on the right side of Finder, you can then again navigate to Finder > View again. "Show Preview Options" should then be available for selection. You can find more details here: Use the Preview pane in the Finder on Mac.

Take care.
