where are deleted emails stored on Mail Version 14.0 (3654.20.0.2.21)

Since upgrading to Big Sur o/s have had a few issues, one is where are deleted emails now stored?

Unintentionally deleted one which I could of previously easily found, but now cannot find the deleted messages.

The boxes marked 'On My Mac', 'Bin' & 'Archive' are empty.

Where are these messages now going?

Hi there, brainnearlydead!

A fellow called WestCorkMac ( hthttps://discussions.apple.com/profile/WestCorkMac

Has just dropped this into the other discussion I was involed in, that I linked to above.

Just save you scrolling around, it's here:-

This is a cut/paste of the new post, that I'm on about:-

"I have had this exact same problem and have found a simple solution.

In the side bar, click the Favourites "+" to add a mailbox. In the next window, open the drop down list of mailboxes where you will find "All Bins". When you have added that, expanding the "All Bins" mailbox in Favourites shows the bin for my mail account (where all the messages deleted with the "bin" button have gone) as well as the bin in "On My Mac".

Hope that helps....."

Obviously I'm not the sharpest guinea-pig in the bunch - but I'm more than happy to spread the word of other more learned giunea-pigs!

Im still on a slight high, now!

I've had the same problem since up-grading to Big Sur.

There isn't a full fix, as of yet - but if you do a search, within the mail app, it will show up, and you can then drag it to somewhere more accesible than a seemingly invisible bin!

Just for reference, the thread is here:-https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252046137

I take no credit for this, though - the kudos belongs to JohnDoe0007, on the other thread.

I didn't realise it was affecting more than a few users, but maybe there will be a quick fix os-update coming, as it appears to be more widespread than I'd thought earlier on today.

At least there's a way of getting the message back, I suppose!

But I'm also secretly hoping for a fix to just "arrive", as it's quite tricky to remeber not to delete (& lose it's location) and to drag it into the bin you'd have normally expected it to go to, of it's own accord!
