Imac - Application not responding

Imac in now taking at least an hour t become usable due to constant ball rolling and applications not responding- iMac 7 years old - any suggestions?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

From the description in your question, it sounds like you could have a full or failing Hard Drive.


So before doing anything else, you need to make sure that you have a good backup.

Then you will need to startup in Safe Mode and follow up with a normal restart.

After that, please run EtreCheck and post back here with your Report.
