Only a portion of the movie shows up

Hi, I drag the movie in, but only a still version shows up, panning from the bottom up for 4 seconds.

You can turn off the panning by selecting the clip and clicking on the crop button (that looks like intersecting angles) in the tool bar in the upper right of your screen. Select "Fit" from the corp selection box. That will fix it. The reason it is panning is because the Ken Burns feature is activated. So you want to change to "Fir" rather than "Ken Burns".

For future projects, you can click on iMovie/Preferences and set the photo placement to "Fit". That will then become your default setting for clips added to future projects.
