How do I transfer icloud back up from my old iphone6S to my new IphonePro12

I just got a iphone 12Pro. I was told I could pair it up with my old iphoneS and get all the information transfered to my new phone.

This did NOT happen. I am now trying to get my icloud information from my old iphone S to my new iphone12Pro. How do I do this?
