Hey there, ScottHanoi.

It appears that you are in a Family Sharing group and have an Apple Music subscription, but someone in your group isn't able to use Apple Music. Can you tell us more details on what happens? Are they being prompted to sign up for an Apple Music subscription? Knowing those details can help determine whats going on.

Also, you'll want to ensure that you have it set to share Apple Music. The information from the following article shows how: What is Family Sharing?

"Share subscriptions with everyone in your family

Sharing access to Apple Music, Apple TV+, iCloud storage, and other Apple services is easy. You can manage your Family Sharing subscriptions in Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing."

We hope that helps. Take care.

Thank you for your message. I have almost given up. When the family member tried to access Apple Music he was asked to subscribe (pay) for the service, so we did not proceed further. In fact I went ahead and cancelled the family music subscription already, but if there’s a way to make it work properly I can re-subscribe.

ScottHanoi,

Thanks for letting us know. If you'd like to resubscribe to Apple Music you can. We recommend ensuring that Apple Music subscription is being shown as as shared in Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing. If it is not, then it would prompt members of the Family Sharing group to subscribe to Apple Music as well.

Another step to take is to ensure that the person in your Family Sharing group is signed in for the right Apple ID in Settings > [tap name], along with restarting their device to see if that may help. Which device are they using to try to access Apple Music? Can they try to access Apple Music with their Apple ID that is in Family Sharing on another device?

Cheers.
