32bit app support for Mac Mini (formerly 2020) now listed as 2018. I found out if I have the M1 chip I can run 32bit

My Mac mini is 6 months old but now apple has the M1 chip so I'm screwed using Big Sur running my 32bit apps. Does anyone know if apple will offer support for running 32bit apps on my new but now old Mac Mini i5??? Should I just install Mojave?

Mac mini, macOS 11.0

Additionally, Jeffbc1234, the Kode App, that is an iPad (and iPhone?) App, is a 64-bit Apple-Silicon App.

(32-bit iPhone/iPad Apps have been “out” for quite some time. I can’t even remember the last device that could run such. [I’m sure there’s someone around here that can fill us in on such.])

Jeff, to run 32bit apps you will need to be on Mojave. Catalina and Big Sur will not run 32-bit apps. If you want to be on Big Sur then I would recommend running a virtual machine and install Mojave on it. I use Parallels. VMWare Fusion is another app that allows you to run virtual machines.

I hope this helps.

What's your thinking about installing Mojave?

Installing Mojave on an M1 based or an Intel based Mac?

On an Intel based Mac, that will work for 32-bit Intel Apps.

You cannot run Mojave, directly, on an M1 based Mac.

(I doubt if Apple’s Rosetta 2 was designed for running a full Operating System [OS], such as Mojave.)
