I cannot get the phone to take screenshots when pressing side and up volume button at same time. It just shuts screen off. I use this feature all the time on my iPhone 8 and I am soo frustrated. Any help?

I think it's a matter of habit.
Press both volume up and side (power) buttons, then quickly release them. Try again.
