Is there anyway to upgrade my OS without buying a new Mac

I am using a Mini Mac mid-2010 with High Sierra, is there anyway to upgrade my OS without having to buy a new Mini Mac?

No. The mid 2010 Mac Mini cannot be upgraded beyond 10.13.6.

FWIW, the security built into High Sierra is not being "discontinued". Newer versions have a higher level of security. You do not want to install so called third-party security or antivirus apps.
